THE LACTATION INSTITUTE and Breastfeeding Clinic sets the standard for treatment of breastfeeding problems and our lactation consultants offer options not found anywhere else.  Breast pumps, bras, pillows and other breastfeeding products are available.  The clinic helps hundreds of mothers every year and is also a research center in the field of lactation. The Lactation Institute has educational programs in lactation for doctors, nurses and other health professions.  The Institute was founded in 1979 by Chele Marmet and Ellen Shell where they developed the first professional lactation consultant training program.

THE LACTATION INSTITUTE is a non-profit corporation that supports the World Health Organization's code of marketing of breastmilk substitutes.
